About Settle in Belgium

Settle in Belgium is an independent English-language guide for people who move to Belgium for work, study or family. It covers the paperwork in the order you meet it: registering at the commune, opening a bank account, joining a mutuality, understanding your payslip, renting a flat and choosing insurance.

What we do differently

• Official sources, dated. Every rate, threshold and rule links to the administration that publishes it, with the date we checked it.
• Data, not opinions in disguise. Comparison tables are generated from one data file per guide. The same numbers feed the table, the provider sections and the scores, so they cannot contradict each other.
• Nothing invented. When a provider does not publish a price, we say so and send you to the source.
• Published scoring. Read how we score.
